Civic Engagement Certificate Info Session, Allbritton Cluster, and CSPL 240 This Friday, April 3

– There will be an information session for Wesleyan’s Civic Engagement Certificate on Friday, April 3 at 12pm in Allbritton 311. This is an excellent opportunity to ask current CEC students about their experiences, learn about upcoming courses, and get ideas for fulfilling the certificate’s practicum and community service requirements. Lunch will be provided.

Be an Academic Peer Advisor and NSO Peer Advisor

The Deans’ Office is looking for talented and motivated students to become Academic Peer Advisors and New Student Orientation Peer Advisors. Academic Peer Advisors are juniors, seniors and exceptional sophomores who work over the summer and throughout New Student Orientation to support Wesleyan’s faculty advising program and enhance student access to academic resources. NSO Peer Advisors are rising Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who meet with new students during NSO as they prepare to meet with faculty advisors. Work for Reunion & Commencement

Reunion and Commencement Weekend 2015 is fast approaching (May 21st-May 24th), and we need student employees! Aside from getting paid, you’ll also have the unique opportunity to help out with one of Wesleyan’s biggest events, make lasting connections with alumni, and represent the student body to hundreds of visitors and guests. Potential jobs include working at the Registration site, being a Camp Cardinal Counselor, escorting guests around campus in shuttle vans, and much more!
To apply for a position, please fill out and submit the student employee application, available here. Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 10th at 5:00 PM, and we will notify you of your employment status no later than Wednesday April 14th.
There will be a mandatory student employee meeting on Tuesday, May 19th in Exley Science Center 150, at 5:00 PM. If you are hired, you must attend this meeting to receive your work schedules, event staff T-shirt, and other important event information.

Melody Moezzi, 2001 Wesleyan Grad speaks about living with mental illness, cultural barriers, and living with stigma!

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is joining with the Muslim Student Association and Active Minds to bring Melody Moezzi for a talk next Tuesday April 7th. Melody is a 2001 Wesleyan grad, and she does a lot of speaking and activism around stigma reduction. she wrote a book called War on Error: Real Stories of American Muslims and her new memoir is called Haldol and Hyacinths: A Bipolar Life.” She is really excited to come to Wes to speak about living with mental illness, cultural barriers to help-seeking, and living with stigma.

Her talk will take place at 7 PM on Tuesday April 7th in the Daniel Family Commons. Copies of her new book will be available, and we will have light refreshments.
